2024 Annual Report

2024 has been an amazing year, especially for our organization. During this year, we have completed multiple ministry events in pursuit of our mission: Bring(ing) hope to the vulnerable groups in local communities by mobilizing volunteers and serving together. 

    First, we donated many items to the teen shelter, Hope House MN. These items included games, crafts, and household goods such as shampoo. We wanted to help the shelter obtain the necessary supplies given their budgetary constraints.

   The Children’s Minnesota Hospital Minneapolis also had children in need of support. We sent various items, consisting of knitted hats, gloves, toys, and much more throughout the year. Seeing the grateful faces of the staff reminded us all of the importance of small actions that can have great impact.

    In supporting our global community, we packed Christmas shoeboxes for Samaritan’s. The shoeboxes contained toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. These were sent all over the world to developing countries, where children wouldn’t usually receive Christmas presents. Our boxes in particular, were sent to communities Malawi and Eswatini. The purpose of these shoeboxes is to bring joy and spread hope through the Gospel in disadvantaged communities, benefiting the children in more ways than one.  

    Children were not our sole area of focus. Lumenators wrote and mailed over 100 Christmas cards to a rehab center and a veteran’s home in Alabama. Each card has a personal message and is decorated by our volunteers.  The elderly often are overlooked, and we have received anecdotes that many are lonely during the festive season. Receiving their thanks was a great reminder of the need to support those that we may see less often.

    Lastly, we gave away bags of food to a local food bank, including canned goods, snacks, and non-perishable foods. We aimed for a large variety of supplies so that the individuals going to the food bank would have options based on their needs.

    Overall, this has been a great year for our organization. We were successful in mobilizing local communities to make a global impact. From donating goods to assisting larger organizations, we truly enjoyed helping people from young to old this year and bringing hope to both local and global communities.
